As some examples, but this should not be considered a complete list:
WikiAnswers is unlike any other website. We don't simply accept 'all' questions without care for the users/readers of the site, but we also leave a fairly wide berth so users can ask a variety of questions. That's why Supervisors consult each other about "inappropriateness" and other kinds of iffy questions, so we can try to be inclusive of many people, but without just ignoring questions that shouldn't be on the site.
No. If you see a question that needs to be trashed, contact a supervisor.
As a site supervisor, you can send questions to the trash can. If you become an advanced supervisor, you may also delete them.(See Related question.)
this question will be used to test bugs with questions. DON'T TRASH
You can contact them through their message board if a user asked the question. If they do not respond or it was not a registered member, then report it to a Supervisor who can trash the question. It is also a good idea to report the alternate that does not have much information to a Supervisor to avoid a pile-up of unnecessary alternates.
If a question breaks the rules on Answers.com, a Supervisor will trash it.The trash began to smell.Trash is the American way of saying "rubbish".
Techie2013 is currently a Category Supervisor, as well as a Teen Mentor and a Vandal Patrol Generalist on WikiAnswers.Note to Supervisors: Please do not delete or Trash this question, as this is a Floating Question.
In order to trash questions you must become a Supervisor for Answers.com. You may report a question or answer by finding a Supervisor or clicking "report abuse" in the right hand corner of the page, above the bold header of the question.
If you can change the question so that it is an acceptable question that can be answered, you should un-trash them and do that. For example a "Which of the following..." question can often be corrected simply by changing "which of the following" to "what."
If you're a supervisor, in the blue bar to the left of the page, under "Question tools," click on "Trash." You will be taken to a list of options as your reason for trashing a question; click on the "Adds no value" option, and then click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the pop-up box.
If you mean that the question needs editing, you can always edit it to make it good. If you mean you submitted a question that should not be asked, then you can trash it. If you can't, you can ask a supervisor to help. Everybody slips from time to time; I would have respect for someone who posted something they shouldn't have, and then took steps to make things right.
If a question is inappropriate or does not have enough information to answer on WikiAnswers it may need to be trashed. This is a tool that only site supervisors are able to use but anyone that finds a question that feels it needs to be removed from the site can either report it to any WikiAnswers supervisor or post it in the "Report Vandalism and Abuse" thread in the Community forum. If you are a Supervisor, go to the question you want to trash and check the left side of the screen and you will see a button that says "Trash." Clicking this will send the question to one of the catch-all categories on WikiAnswers.
Very Carefully.
