Easter or Resurrection Sunday is the day Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus the Christ from the dead. Even before theologians explained the death of Jesus in terms of various atonement theories, the early church saw his resurrection as the central witness to a new act of God in history a…nd the victory of God in vindicating Jesus as the Messiah. This event marks the central faith confession of the early church and was the focal point for Christian worship, observed on the first day of each week since the first century (Acts 20:7; Sunday was officially proclaimed the day of Christian worship in AD 321). Easter as an annual celebration of the Resurrection that lies at the center of a liturgical year has been observed at least since the fourth century. Even in churches that traditionally do not observe the other historic seasons of the church year, Easter has occupied a central place as the high point of Christian worship. Though many might not be aware, Easter is one day in a series of days that are observed in connection to the death and resurrection of Jesus, culminating with the descention of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. The days observed are: . Palm Sunday - The day Jesus entered Jerusalem triumphantly . Ash Wednesday - Rooted in the ancient tradition of covering one's head with ashes, wearing sackcloth and fasting. . Lent - The 40 days before Easter beginning on Ash Wednesday, it is a time for prayer, fasting and penitence, though not many fast the entire 40 days like Jesus did. . Maudy Thursday - The day of the Last Supper and the night of Jesus' betrayal by Judas . Good Friday - Jesus' death on the cross . Easter Sunday - Jesus' resurrection from the dead . Ascension Day - Celebrated 40 days after Easter, it marks Jesus' ascension into Heaven . Pentecost - The seventh Sunday after Easter, it is the day the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus' followers in the Upper Room as they were celebrating the Jewish harvest festival called Shavuot Easter is when jesus wake s up (MORE)
The English name, "Easter", and the German, "Ostern", derive from the name of Germanic Goddess of the Dawn (thus, of spring, as the dawn of the year) - called aster, astre, and ostre, in various dialects of Old English. In England, the annual festive time in her honor was in the "Month of Easter", e…quivalent to April. The Venerable Bede, an 8th Century English Christian monk wrote in Latin: "Eosturmonath, qui nunc paschalis mensis interpretatur, quondam a dea illorum quae Eostre vocabatur et cui in illo festa celebrabant nomen habuit." Which means: "Eastermonth, which is now interpreted as the paschal month, was formerly named after the goddess Eostre, and has given its name to the festival." (MORE)
Easter is the holiday of spring when the Easter bunny leaves plastic eggs full of money or candy . If the Easter Bunny really even exists , we don't know. what we all here is what people think , not what is true.
Jesus died on Good Friday and, three days later, on Easter Sunday, he rose from his grave.
It is a celebration for when Jesus rose from the death, so we celebrate in remeberance of Jesus rising from the death pretty much.
Easter for Western Christians (Catholics, Protestants) and (also called Pascha) for Eastern Orthodox Christians is on Sunday the 4th of April 2010 and again on April the 24th 2011.
Very simply, Christians have eggs at Easter because pagans used to celebrate the coming of spring with eggs (which were a sign of new life and rebirth). When Christianity spread and conquered pagan cultures, the old customs got absorbed into the new religion. This process is called "religious syncre…tism." (MORE)
Ultimately named after Austron, a goddess of spring and fertility. Check this website (see related link) for more information.
According to the website easter.newarchaeology, Easter Sunday 2009 will fall on Sunday 12th April 2009. This site has a lot of info on Easter, including Easter dates up to and including the year 2030, for those who like to plan their bank holidays well in advance.. Easter day falls on the first Sun…day on or after the first full moon after the Spring (Vernal) Equinox. . This was decided in 325AD by the Council of Nicaea, a group of clergymen. . Because of this rule, Easter Day can fall as early as the 22nd of March and as late as the 25th of April. . Easter won't be as early as it was in 2008 (24th April) until the year 2160 and was last this early in 1913. . The next really late Easter Day will be 24th April 2011, so we might have decent weather for that one!! (N.B. There is always decent weather for Easter in Australia...) (MORE)
Easter was named after the Anglo Saxon goddess of Eostre. It was originally a pagan festival which was adopted by Christianity.
On good Friday, Jesus was crusified and put on the cross, on Easter Sunday we celebrate the anniverary of when Jesus came back to life. The reason that we have Easter eggs on Easter, there is two reasons, I used to go to a Catholic school so I learnt a lot about God and Jesus and how Jesus died a…nd all that stuff. Here are the reasons that we have Easter eggs: The first reason: When Jesus was buried in a cave, when he came back to life he had to move a big boulder or giant rock to get out, it was an egg shape. Everyone knows that most people love chocolate, so they take the egg from the egg shaped boulder or giant rock and the chocolate, also to pig out a bit on chocolate because lent has ended. The second reason: An egg represents new life, when Jesus came back to life it was new life, when chickens eggs hatch and other animals that grow in eggs it is new life, so the egg represents the new life of Jesus, the chocolate is just as a treat, also to pig out a bit on chocolate because lent has ended. I am so glad that you asked! Easter is such a fun time! What you do is like a day before Easter you fill up plastic eggs with candy, and then over night, your parents hide the eggs. But that's not all! Also on the day before Easter, you can decorate real eggs to! You can get a kit at Walmart, etc. A…nd then you can make them all colorful and decorate them! And then the next day, you go out with your Easter baskets and try to find all of the eggs! What my family usually does is after we find all of the eggs, we make scrambled eggs out of the real ones we decorated! What also helps is after you are done filling the eggs with candy and decorating real ones is to count how many plastic ones you have and how many real ones you have, so then the next day after you guys are all done finding them, you can count them to make sure that there aren't any missing! I hope that my answer helps and I hope that you have a happy Easter! (MORE)
It's a celebration of new life during the Spring Equinox which means, whoops, it's a "pagan" tradition (to use the term "pagan" quite loosely). My guess is that Christianity attached new significance to the springtime tradition when Jesus was resurrected, but it's original meaning was about new li…fe (babies), not resurrection (coming back to life) -- maybe I'm splitting hairs here (or hares, har har!). Because some people make decorated eggs for Easter, they think thatchicks are cute pets. When the chicks are no longer little, children and parents get bored of them and this becomes a bigproblem. Do not buy chicks as Easter pets.
We celebrate Easter because it's the day Jessus rose from the dead. ( Please don't ask why Easter is on different days now... no one really knows why)
Rabbits and eggs are pagan fertility symbols of extreme antiquity.. Birds lay eggs and rabbits give birth to large litters in the early spring these became symbols of the rising fertility of the earth during the spring season.. Since Easter also occurs in the early spring, people brought the belov…ed pagan symbols into the Christian celebration of Easter.. These pagan symbols have become part of the Christian tradition. They do not take anything away from the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and they add to the celebration.. Fixing the Incubator\n. Next you are asked to fix the incubator. But first you have to get the blueprints which is in Easter Bunny Jr`s room. Talk to the impling worker who is next to the incubator. You must find the parts of the incubator which are in different boxes. The boxes can be found all over… the room, there are 3 groups of multiple boxes, and 2 single boxes. Look for boxes with the search option. Use the Cog, Piston, and Chimney on the main section (in that order). Use the sooty pipe on the Coal supply, the wet pipe on the Water tank, and the normal pipe on the Incubator controls. The Easter Bunny Jr will be next to the water tank on the incubator. (MORE)
The like below shall provide the answer with detail, hope you're good at reading lol. But there is no link? First go to falador, head south and find this present sign. Speak 2 the charlie the squirrel. Go down the rabbit hole, you will need to empty ur inventory so if you need to bring anything… along, wear it. Speak to the Easter bunny. It will tell you to go speak with an impling manager. Speak to the one the Easter bunny tells you to, and when the impling manager tells you to wash the things in the machine. Search the machine and you will get 3 dirty items. In one place there will be an oven, you can see the mark for water source. click on 1 of those 3 items and click on the water source, do the same for the next 2. click on the items and click on the machine next to the impling manager, do so 4 the other 2. Then speak to the bunny again, and he will give u a task of making dyes. You will have 2 go 2 an impling manager next to the egg painting machine. Then search all the crates u can find and then in the 2nd 2 last crate, u will find the dye. ( don't try 2 look for cheats 4 looking 4 the crate wth dye, because its differnet for each player.) Speak 2 the impling manager again, and he will unpack the crate. Inside will be 3 dyes and he will give u a color wheel and a mixing bowl. Mix the colors he wants, then go 2 the Easter bunny. I think u will need 2 train the squirrels, which is easy. Speak 2 a impling manager, and then speak 2 him again after u finished speaking. Kick out what isn't a nut or choclate by clicking on a button. Be careful bcuz 1nce it goes out of the red zone, if u click, it will kick out the 1 next 2 it. Speak 2 the Easter bunny again. Go to the Easter bird. talk to it and don't say anything u think would be the slightest bit mean to it and then speak 2 the Easter bunny. Speak 2 him again and u will have to manage the factory. There will be instructions on the right, plz read them. I like buying 8 workers and making 2 resources of each resource. After u done that, speak 2 the Easter bunny again. Go 2 the places, I think the fastest way is teleporting. And then go back 2 the bunny hole, go down, and speak 2 the Easter bunny. Then u will get ur prize. (MORE)
It has nothing to do with Christianity. The legend has it that there was a beautiful bird who loved the goddess Isis. Each year on the spring equinox would come and lay her colorful eggs at the feet of the goddess. The goddess promised to grant her a wish and she said she would like to be a soft cud…dly bunny, but Isis loving the eggs granted her wish but continued to lay her eggs each spring. . The word "Easter" is a distortion of the name "Estre," a pagan fertility Goddess. The early church in effect took over a pagan time of celebration, and adapted the name to suit its own needs. . The original Christian church celebrating Christ's resurrection every week by meeting for worship on the first day of the week (upon which He rose) celebrated the Pascha, which is a celebration "of His death till He comes." . This is the feast we are actually commanded to keep, then we fast on Friday, attend a vigil on Saturday and rejoice the morning of His resurrection (the Feast of First Fruits). But the Roman Catholic Church altered this practice first and centuries later by imposition developed a tradition of celebrating the Resurrection as the feast. . Rabbits and eggs are pagan fertility symbols of extreme antiquity. Birds lay eggs and rabbits give birth to large litters in the early spring these became symbols of the rising fertility of the earth during the spring season. Since Easter also occurs in the early spring, people brought the beloved pagan symbols into the Christian celebration of Easter. These pagan symbols have become part of the Christian tradition. They do not take anything away from the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and they add to the celebration. Christianity has frequently absorbed the positive and neutral symbols of pagan religions while leaving the negative symbols behind, similar to Christmas trees and Halloween costumes. . The English word Easter is from the Old English words Äastre or Äostre or Eoaste. Eostre/Eostra/Eastre was the name of a pagan Saxon goddess, goddess of dawn, spring and fertility. Apparently rabbits were her favorite animal. Eggs, hares and rabbits have long been symbols of fertility. Eostra's consort was the Sun god, and it is reported that the first Sun day after the first full moon succeeding the vernal equinox was sacred to her. Going further back, there appears to be a connection between Eostra and the ancient goddess Astarte, a goddess connected with fertility and sexuality. Perhaps Eostra is the European name for the same goddess. The Greeks used the word 'Aphrodite' for the goddess Astarte. And the Romans called her Venus. According to ancient myths and legends, Astarte gave birth to Eros. . According to one source, the ancient German goddess Ostara ( Eostre in Anglo-Saxon) had a hare as a companion, and that this may have led to the 'Easter Bunny' customs. This source adds that rabbits were part of pre-Christian fertility lore. For more information, see Related links below this box. (MORE)

The modern celebration of Easter is actually a blending of an ancient Pagan festival with a Christian festival. The Pagan festival was about fertility, based on the fact that many things in nature are born in the spring. Rabbits are notorious for being very fertile and bearing many children, so the …Pagans used rabbits at the center of their worship. This is also where the use of eggs for easter originated as well, as eggs are a strong symbol of fertility. (MORE)
