Writer: Solomon
Place Written: Jerusalem
Writing Completed: c. 1020 B.C.E.
The poem was composed when Solomon had 60 queens and 80 concubines. This points to the earlier part of his 40-year reign (1037-998 B.C.E.), since Solomon finally came to have 700 wives and 300 concubines.-1Ki 11:3.

the song of Roland to the best of my knowledge is not part of Renaissance literature, but it is rather the first work that came out of the Middle Ages that wasn't in Latin. It was in Old French.
The poem is the Song of Roland
The most famous medieval work in English is probably The Canterbury Tales, or possibly Le Morte d'Arthur (which was written in English, despite its title). The Divine Comedy, the Niebelungenlied, the Poem of the Cid, and the Song of Roland are all famous works from other languages.
