Additionally, in many cases it's actually helpful to take measurements wearing trousers as it will give you a better idea of the optimal point to measure the waist area, the crotch and the preferred length of the pants.
Another tip for measuring the trousers length would be to wear the shoes you would normally wear with your outfit, this will help you better understand where you want to the trousers to break and how high you want them from the back heel
