What is the frequency of the secondary of a 230 volt step down transformer?

The frequency is dependant upon what electrical grid that you are connecting the transformerto. If you are connected to a 50 Hz grid, the transformer will output a voltage at 50 Hz. The same thing with the 60 Hz grid, the transformer will output a voltage at 60 Hz.

What type of transformer is needed before the electricity from the Power Station is sent into the National Grid?

From the Generator station, the voltage is sent to a step up transformer. Transmission at higher voltages is used to over come line loss over the miles of transmission.

What is an electric transformer box?

A transformer is an electrical device that takes electricity of one voltage and changes it into another voltage. You'll see transformers at the top of utility poles and even changing the voltage in a toy train set.

What is a network of wires that carries electricity circuit grid or transformer?

the grid

How is electricity transported and distributed?

The electricity is transported and distributed by the use of the national grid and the step down and the step up transformers.

What type of connection is used in power grid connection between generation and distribution?

A step up transformer is used at this junction in the electrical transmission system.

What is the purpose of transforms?

A transformer is used to step up or step down a Voltage supply.

How do you produce a step-up transformer in an ordinary transformer?

Transformer function is either to step-up or down the voltage. There is nothing like an ordinary transformer.

When was At the National Grid created?

At the National Grid was created in 2005.

What is a transformer called that increases voltage?

A transformer that increases voltage is a step-up transformer.

Step up transformer is used to increase the?

A step up transformer is used to step up an AC voltage

Where might a step-down transformer be used?

Step-down transformer is used at grid substations for feeding various substations which further step down the voltage for feeding distributing transformers and further step down transformers are used to supply the voltage for the consumer uses
