Impalas have two catalytics, one on each side attached to each exhaust manifold. There is one o2 sensor before and one after each of the catalytics. The after sensors are easy to see, however the primary sensors can be seen from bottom of car before the catalytics. Mounted into a welded on bung into the pipe with a couple wires attached to each sensor. The reason im telling you this is because i have a 96 impala ss and if your gonna change 1 o2 sensor then you should definatly change all 4 of them well hope this helps you good luck!
