Due to US Copyright restrictions, and the intense lobbying on the part of the film industry, region-free DVD players can be difficult to obtain. Some sellers online will offer region-free devices, but in general one can obtain a regular DVD player and attempt to region-unlock the device. The success of this will vary from device model to device model, but many models have built-in commands and functions to unlock the region. If looking to purchase a region-free device, online resellers are the first, and typically last place to look.
