The Stevens 84C (Stevens was owned by Savage Arms, and the 84C is the same as the Savage 4C) was made with two different trigger guards during its production life. One was a simple curved steel trigger guard that was mounted to the surface of the stock. The other was a larger cast aluminum alloy trigger guard that fit into an "inlet" (cutout area) on the stock. Both types of trigger guards are still available (in Jan 2012) from Numrich (aka Gun Parts Corp)

updated answer: Stevens was owned by Savage Arms, and the Stevens model 87D is the same as the Savage model 6D (Stevens rifles were the lower cost siblings to the similar Savage models, usually with birch rather than walnut stocks, etc). The cast aluminum alloy trigger guard used by both versions of this rifle are still available (in Jan 2012) from Numrich (aka Gun Parts Corp) -- see: www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Products.aspx?catid=856 orignal answer: Try e-gunparts.com

I can't find production dates for a model 357, but if it is marked J Stevens Arms Co (NOT J. Stevens and Co or J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co), the gun was made no earlier than 1920 and before 1950.
I have a CNC Billet Aluminum tube fed trigger guard for a Winchester model 77. I have then polished or hard black anoidzed.
There were only 3500 Stevens Lord pistols manufactured, even though they were made from 1880 to 1911. The Conlin model (6500 production in 1st and 2nd generation) was also manufactured during the same time period, and it used an identical trigger guard. Alternatively, any good blacksmith or antique firearms gunsmith can easily forge a duplicate trigger guard for your pistol by splitting and shaping steel round stock if he has some basic dimensions to follow. Generally, duplication can be done off of a full size drawing or photo, and screw holes can be placed by measuring the gun that the trigger guard is going to be fit to. If you can't find the replacement, see a qualified antique gunsmith (especially one who works in Kentucky style rifles from scratch) to remanufacture your trigger guard, or any decent blacksmith. Alternatively, if you're interested in selling this piece, let me know as I collect Stevens rifles and pistols. John W Munds Park, AZ tox_medic at yahoo dot com
