You get it in the Forbidden Woods when you visit Forest Haven to retrieve the second pearl. Part way through this area you will face a mini-boss called Mothula, a large moth. (Thank you, Captain Obvious!) Your reward in the defeat of this monster is the boomerang that you seek. Now all you need to do is get out of the room...
You just have to save 3 or 4 monkeys to cross the bridge where the big baboon cut the bridge in half. Then use the monkeys to cross and fight the baboon. HINT: (Roll into the totem poles when he throws the boomerang a couple times till he falls then slash his naked butt.
#1Find the monkeys around the first area of the forest temple.
#2Use them to cross the bridge broken by the mini boss(Ook).
#3Defeat the mini boss(Ook).
The Gale Boomerang is the Forest Temple's main item (the first dungeon). You obtain it after you beat the dungeon's mid-boss, Ook (the baboon).
