You don't need to know because making your trying to make BOMBS illegally.
Terrible grammar aside; the person posting the above response doesn't understand that there are alot of legitimate uses for Ammonium perchlorate. The most common use is in model rocketry for the hobbyist. Why does he automatically assume that somebody looking for NH4ClO4 is involved in bomb making?
I agree, ammonium perchlorate is great for rocketry, but expensive and hard to find because everyone thinks it is used for bombs and nothing else. Also, if someone was going to make a bomb they would use ammonium nitrate because it is much cheaper.
Ammonium Perchlorlate - NH4ClO4 The negative perchlorate ion (NH4+) is ionically attracted to the positive ammonium ion (ClO4-).
The net ionic equation when ammonium perchlorate reacts with water is NH4++ H2O --> NH3+ H3O+
NH4ClO4
It's a class 4 oxidizer, meaning it can kick start anything that can burn into burning. But by itself it isn't very dangerous (since there is nothing for it to help burn). Mixing ammonium perchlorate with some metal powders can create an explosive.
The chemical reaction is:NH4ClO4 + KOH ↔ KClO4 + NH4OH

Ammonium perchlorate, or NH4CIO4, is an inorganic compound and contains ammonium hydroxide and the salt of perchlorate. It can be found in large quantities on Alibaba.

Ammonium perhclorate is a salt. It is weakly acidic due to the presence of the ammonium ion.
The valency of nitrogen is 3
