Although I'm not a clarinet player, buying a used instrument isn't that bad since the mouth pieces are interchangeable. Instruments with a removable head are safe to be shared (when you have different mouthpieces). The best deal is to buy a new one, since you don't have to worry about other people who previously have used it.
