∙ 13y agoThe first few pages of Anne's diary were written in her parents home, an apartment on Merwedeplein in South Amsterdam. The rest of it was written in the upstairs rear rooms of her father's place of business in Prinzengracht St. in Amsterdam, where her family and four other people were hiding. Her last entry is dated August 1, 1944. The people in the rear rooms were betrayed and arrested by the Nazis on August 4th.

∙ 12y agoAnne preferred to write at the desk in the small bedroom she shared with Fritz Pfeffer, which was a source of constant friction between them, as he felt his right to use the desk superseded hers.
She sometimes wrote at a table in her parent's room, too.
