Elvis did a concert in Hawaii that was broadcast all over the world by satellite.

It was a good concert, with Elvis in his white jump suit, lean and slim, and looking very handsome. He performed a good medley of his hit songs and his voice was strong and powerful, with his innate rhythm, as always.

At the close of this formal concert, he and his musicians decided to do a few songs for the United States alone. They seemed to have a fun time doing so. At one point, one of the musicians asked Elvis if they could do another take on that one, and Elvis replied "Sure, everybody deserves one stupid mistake." At another point, Elvis was not pleased with part of a song, and started saying S---! when the musician went ahead and called out the whole four-letter word.

I was crossing my fingers that he wouldn't get the lyrics of the Hawaiian songs mixed up, but he went through them all without a hitch. No doubt he was the greatest entertainer of the last century (and maybe this one, too).

At one point my attention was drawn elsewhere, and at that time Elvis began singing "What now my love," which knocked my sox off. He apologized to the audience before he sang, "I'm so lonesome I could cry," because he said he really didn't want to sing such a sad song, but as in everything else he did, it was great. From a truck driver to a super-star entraordinairre, he was always a pleasure to watch. His face was aristocratic, with aquiline nose and beautiful mouth and smile. He was shown a lot from left profile, and his looks, which he inherited primarily from mother Gladys, were stunning.

He performed in Hawaii, in England, and in Canada.
