John F. Kennedy was born into a wealthy family and lived a very privileged childhood that included frequent trips to Cape Cod in a private boat, private schools, and servants. He grew up in a family of 11 with a mother and father, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. The siblings had a competitive but loving relationship with each other. JFK, who was known as Jack to friends and family, was idolized by his younger sister Kathleen "Kick" and younger brother Robert "Bobby." 15 years his senior, Jack was a father figure to young Edward "Ted." Jack was very competitive with his older brother Joe Jr. He was raised in the Northeast US and was Irish Catholic.

In his childhood and throughout his later life as well, jack was not a healthy child.
