The movie was released in l964, owing to popularity, some areas did not get it in their theatres until the following year ( I saw the film in l965 at the State Theatre- no longer extant. It wa snot adapted to Broadway until a few years ago. oddly originally a movie- then a play, this is the opposite course, of say, Harvey.
