Why is it an advantage to have dead cells on the surface of the body? Why is it an advantage to have dead cells on the surface of the body?
They die in the vessels, but the spleen has special cells that go to dissolve the dead red blood cells. We actually excrete them when we go to the toilet its the dead blood and bile juices that give the excrement the dark brown look.

Dead skin cells break away from the epidermis and they fall off. This makes room for the newer skin cells. The dead cells fall off as you go about your daily life and they can end up in your bed and around your house.
Dead cells in your body.
A layer of new cells is always better than a layer of old and dead cells. If your skin is dead then it wont be protecting you, instead it will spread the necrosis to your inside body parts and ultimately you'll either scar a lot or die. Nothing dead is every helpful to the body (hence why dead cells are always "recycled" and then flushed out of the body).

Skin and hair.
Yes, things that are dead still have cells. These cells begin to die after somatic death (whole body death).
when you get older, like, really old, your body stops producing skin cells. your hair is actually dead skin cells. pretty gross, I know. but because your body is no longer producing skin cells, new skin cells cannot die, therefore, the dead skin cells, (your hair) will fall out because nothing new and strong is holding onto it.
If only the first layer of cells is damaged, then only the dead cells will be affected (and fall off). This acts as protection for the newer cells underneath.
if you must know what makes body hair is ( dead cells)!
