Well, I don't know about the Amish in other areas, but in Lancater County, PA (high Amish population), they always sew their clothes at home. They don't have patterns for them. However, the one article of clothing that can be purcased is the men's white shirt that is worn to chirch

Look I lived with Amish, and get invited for meals, I can tell you from personal experience the food is generally not very good. They believe food should only be for nourishment, and tasty food would be eaten for pleasure, that goes against belief of plainness.

The food they sell to outsiders is not same food they eat. The products are bought from a grocery store and prepared with some guidelines.
