You did not say what year it was. But either way there will be 2 plugs just over top of each other on the side of the transmiassion, could be right or left side. The bottom plug is a drain, and just above it will be the fill plug. they both look the same.
75w or higher gear oil
Synthetic syncromesh manual transmission fluid either gm parts has it or ams oil does. The key is syncromesh tho any aftermarket oil thats syncromesh.

It can be accessed by removing the transmission oil pan.
I have a 98 S10, 5 speed standard with 185K miles on it and I use Mercon in the transmission.

The transmission oil goes in thru the dipstick tube.
The oil pressure sensor on a 1988 Chevy 1500 5.7 is located on the engine. It is on the right side, near the intake manifold.
