Bring the engine to #1 TDC and take off the cap. The tower that the rotor is pointing at is for the #1 spark plug wire. Then, going clockwise, the next wire is #8, then 4, 3, 6, 5, 7, & 2.
18436572 clockwise
The wiring order also called firing order is 18436572 some distributor caps show the #1 plug connector, which in most cases is the first post on the right side facing the back side of the carburater. start there and go clockwise with your wires in the 18436572 firing order.
Double check, then triple check your firing order. Especially which distributor post is #1. Sounds like you're one off.
Start clockwise: firing order is 18436572
At cylinder 1, should be labeled on distributor cap.
Assuming you mean distributor cap and rotor, yes, if you mixed up the firing order.
Line up number one cylinder on the compression stroke to TDC. Remove distributor cap and take note where the rotor lines up to which post on the cap, that would be the starting point for number one. The firing order from there would be 1, 5, 3, 6, 2, 4 clockwise.
1234 start from pasenger side
Check the distributor
Most likely bad plugs or firing order isn't right, i would start by checking the order you got the plugs and if that's not it check the plug wires.
Check the firing order. Maybe it got mixed up in the process. The firing order is clockwise 1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7, 2. Also check the inside of the distributor cap and rotor for carbon tracking.
1-6-5-4-3-2-1 start w/ post next to drivers side of intake manifold The firing order is 165432. Number one is driver side front to rear 135 and driver side is 246. Rotor in dist. cap rotates clockwise.
