The animal body gets its energy from food. Food is the fuel for body. As food is digested and consequently degraded into simpler substances, (by enzymes) energy is release with breaking up of chemical bonds of food material. This energy is stored in the cells of the body and later utilized in various works.

The ultimate source of energy is sun, as plants can manufacture their food only in the presence of sunlight. Animals depend on plants in one way or another, (directly or indirectly). So the key to energy is suns radiation, its light and heat!

Well, first of all, that energy is called glucose, and glucose comes from all kinds of plants like, cocoa beans, apples, broccoli, peaches, etc. When you eat something like the items listed, the glucose runs through your blood in your veins so that it's carried throughout your body. That way your body starts generating energy from the glucose.
