The starter.
The negative battery terminal is on the battery. They don't have a wire coming from it like they do the positive. For charging purposes, the engine block acts as the battery ground. When disconnecting the negative at the battery, the negative terminal usually has a black wire and the positive has a red.
the VPWR terminal is the main power source coming out from the battery. V=Vehicle, PWR= POWER. in simple words, the VPWR is the POSITIVE (+) terminal coming from the battery in the car.:} your welcome.
should be your starter selonoid...they are a common problem on raptors.
those 3 cables are the same on all vehicles, one coming from the alternator, one going to the starter, and the last going to the fuse box.
Its one of the wires coming off the positive (+) terminal of the battery. Don't burn yourself on the exhaust manifold
I call it the flag terminal - Its where 12v goes into the starter when you hit your start button
It is no different than installing a battery in any car that has a regular 12 volt system. Make sure the vehicle is turned completely off. Take either a 10mm or 12mm open end wrench and loosen the terminal connections. Do the negative side first ( - ) and then the positive ( + ). If you are unsure of which is which, look on the side or top of the battery for the symbols. Most batteries have a tie down, so take your 12mm wrench and unscrew the nuts from the two rods coming up the side of the battery that are going through a bracket that spans the top of the battery. Remove the spanner and the cables from the terminal and pull it out. Put the new one in reverse order connecting the positive side last.
Disconnect the positive (red) terminal from your battery for 30-60 seconds. This will reset the computer & the light should go off until the malfunctioning part malfunctions again resulting in the light coming back on.
Battery cables loose or corroded which is not likely with a new battery but check the ground connection and the connection at the starter. Charge the battery with a battery charger and then start the mower. Disconnect the positive battery terminal and if the engine dies the problem is with the charging system. Check all the wiring coming from the alternator located under the flywheel. If nothing is wrong then you will have to remove the flywheel and find out what is defective. Can be a diode has failed or the alternator is defective.
If you own a Jaguar with the battery in the trunk and it is normally opened by a button or switch inside the car but the battery is dead...well open the hood, pull another car or just a battery up to it. With a jumper cable hook the negitive battery terminal from the battery to a solid metal part of the engine assembly...then with a smaller jumper wire hooked to positive battery terminal hook the other end to the large post coming out of the alternator...now you might want to hook up the small jumper wire to the large post coming out of the rear of the alternator first... because if you touch it to any part that's metal it will ark.....by doing this you will send power into the electrial system and you can now use the switch to open the trunk....
There is an easy way to find out what is draining the battery on your car. Disconnect the positive or negative battery terminal. Not both. Connect a test light between the post of the battery to the cable end of the battery. If your car is draining the batt ery the light will show it. To find out where the drain is coming from just pull fuses until the light goes out. Then you will know what is draining the battery by the function of the fuse you just pulled. For example, if you pulled the fuse for "radio" and the light went out you would know the radio is drawing the current off your battery.
check your positive on your battery. verify if no power is coming from the battery OR from the ignition. hard to answer without knowing if the problem is coming from battery or ignition. look for burnt wires going to the solenoid. hope you get a more precise answer. good luck. it could be worse!
