The Bible never directly says that Mormonism is true. Mormons do find many verses in the Bible which support their religion and seem to point to their church being God's true church. For example:

New Testament Christian Church went into Apostasy, necessitating a Restoration:

Isaiah 60:2-3 "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising."

Amos 8:11-12 "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it."

2 Thessalonians 2:2-3"That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come, expect there come a falling away first…"

Isaiah 29:9-10 "Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered."

About events in the Book of Mormon, or about the Book of Mormon itself:

Genesis 49:22 "Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well, whose branches run over the wall." (Referring to Nephites, descendants of Joseph who 'run over the wall' to the Americas)

Psalm 85:11 "Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven" (referring to the Book of Mormon coming out of the earth and God restoring truth from heaven)

Isaiah 29:4 "And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust." (referring to the Book of Mormon coming out of the earth)

Isaiah 29:11-12 "And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed." (referring to the professors who would not verify the translation of the Book of Mormon and the portion of the plates which were sealed shut.)

Ezekiel 37:19 "Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel and his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand." (Referring to the Book of Mormon (stick of Ephraim) and the Bible (stick of Judah) being used together as scripture, also to the Jews and righteous Gentiles (Mormons) being combined into one fold of God.)

John 10:16 "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." (referring to the Israelites (Nephites) living in a different fold (the Americas) in the Book of Mormon, and the Savior's visit to them as recorded in the Book of Mormon.)

About Joseph Smith:

Isaiah 11:1 "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots." (Joseph Smith is the rod from the stem of Jesse, Jesus Christ is the Branch from the roots of Jesse)

Malachi 3:1 "Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts." (Joseph Smith is the messenger preparing the way, who told of Jesus Christ visiting him in the temple.)

The Restoration of true Christianity and what God's church looks like in the Last Days:

Isaiah 2:2 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it." (referring to Salt Lake City, the central headquarters of Mormonism)

Isaiah 11:11-12 "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left… And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth"

Jeremiah 31:31"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah."

Ezekiel 37:26-28"Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my

sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore."

Daniel 2:44-45 "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure."

Malachi 4:5-6"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."

Matthew 17:11-13 "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist." (referring to John the Baptist restoring Priesthood authority to Joseph Smith)

Romans 11:25 "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in."

Isaiah 1:26 "And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city."

God's true Church must be led by prophets:

Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

Is Mormonism an ethnic group?

No. Mormonism is a Restorationist Christian religious movement. Followers of Mormonism come from many different ethnic groups around the world. It is true that some religious groups can double as ethnic groups (such as Judaism - although you can be an ethnic Jew but not a religious Jew, or religiously Jewish but not ethnically Jewish) but Mormonism has not had the thousands of years of intermarrying required to become an ethnic group.

Who was the finder of Mormonism?

Joseph Smith, Jr. is usually credited as the founder (not finder) of the Mormonism movement. His followers believe that he was a prophet acting under the direction of Jesus Christ, so many would say that Jesus is the founder of Mormonism rather than Joseph Smith.
