Mark's Gospel is inconclusive. In its original form, Jesus did not appear to anyone after his resurrection. The "Long Ending" (verses 16:9-25) was added much later to harmonise more or less with Matthew and Luke, and says that Jesus appeared to "the two" on the road, but these could have been the two women of Matthew's Gospel or the two men of Luke's. He the nappeared to the disciples in the upper room, which would have included Peter.
Matthew's Gospel says that Jesus only appeared to the disciples in a mountain in Galilee, and once again Peter would have been present.
Luke's Gospel says that on the day of his resurrection Jesus appeared to two disciples walking along the road, and one of these could have been Peter. He then appeared to the disciples in the upper room, on the same day.
John's Gospel says that Jesus appeared to ten of the disciples in the upper room on the day of his resurrection, then a few days later to all eleven of the remaining disciples. He finally appeared to the disciples by the Sea of Galilee. Peter was present on each occasion.
Paul says that Jesus was seen by Peter, then the twelve (not eleven, as in the gospels), then by more than 500, most of whom were still alive, then by James and all the apostles. However, he does not say just when this was, and indicates that the appearances were spiritual.
The Apostle Peter was quite active especially after the Day of Pentecost when he received the Holy Spirit within him. He preached and taught at Jerusalem, traveled to Samaria leading many to Christ, later he was responsible in leading Cornelius and his family to Jesus, he wrote to letters which are now in the New Testament, and I am sure he did many things of which we are not aware of in witnessing for Christ. The Book of Acts has quite a section on Peter.
Jesus Christ appeared to Simon Peter in Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:14-20, Luke 24:36-53, and John 21:1-23.
Jesus did not ever appear to Peter privately after His resurrection.
From the three storys it shows us Peter is Jesus' 'rock' and through everything Jesus can still forgive people.
Actually no body was there, but peter came later to the tomb.
2nd was peter reject Jesus 3x before the
In the letter, called 1 Peter in the Bible, Peter is referring to Jesus Christ. Peter writes about Jesus' incarnation, his sinless life, his suffering and death, his resurrection, his ascension, his presence at the right hand of the Father and his second coming.
Jesus Christ is the teacher of all Christians, and he gave all Scriptures also, (2 Peter 1.20 & 21)
Peter witnessed many more than 3 events in Jesus life, as he was with him for the three years of his ministry, but i suppose the most important came at the end of Jesus life, which were, his Crucifixion, his resurrection and his ascension.
Roman Catholic AnswerIn Jesus commission to Peter to lead His Church, after His resurrection, He told Peter repeatedly to feed His sheep.
St. Peter, or Peter the apostle (as he is called in the New Testament) was one of Jesus' 12 disciples, and also one of Jesus' "inner circle" of 3 disciples, Peter, James and John. Jesus took these three with him up the mountain to the transfiguration (Matthew 17) As Jesus predicted, Peter betrayed Jesus by denying him, and was 'reinstated' by Jesus after the resurrection.
yes when jesus calmed the sea when he walked on water when he made peter catch all those fish
This story is not in the gospels. It was the author of 1 Peter who wrote of Jesus going down to preach to the prisoners in hell, at verse 3:18-19.
The death and Resurrection of Christ is recorded in the Gospels of Matthew (Chapters 27-28), Mark (15-16), Luke (23-24), and John (19-20). It is also mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15. Answer2: FOUR REASONS WHY WE KNOW THAT JESUS WAS RESURRECTED (1) Jesus' resurrection happened "according to the Scriptures." God's Word foretold the resurrection. For example, David wrote that God's "loyal one" would not be left in the Grave. (Read Psalm 16:10.) On the day of Pentecost in the year 33, Peter explained that the "loyal one" was Jesus when he said: "[David] foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he forsaken in the Grave nor did his flesh see corruption."-Acts 2:23-27, 31 (2) Many eyewitnesses saw the resurrected Jesus. During the 40 days after his resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples in the garden near his tomb, on the road to the village of Emmaus, and in other places. (Luke 24:13-15) He spoke to individuals, including Peter, and to groups. Once, Jesus even appeared to a crowd of more than 500 people. We cannot ignore the fact that so many eyewitnesses saw the resurrected Jesus. (3) The disciples zealously preached about Jesus' resurrection. They were persecuted, they suffered, and some were killed because of their preaching work. Think about this: If Jesus had not been raised to life, would Peter have risked his life to preach about Christ's resurrection to the same people who hated Jesus and plotted his death? Peter and the other disciples were confident that Jesus was alive and was overseeing the preaching work. Also, Jesus' resurrection gave his followers the strong hope that they too would be resurrected. For example, Stephen died convinced that he would be resurrected.-Acts 7:55-60. (4) Jesus' resurrection confirms all that he taught. One Bible scholar wrote that if Christ was not resurrected, then Christians are foolish people who believe a big lie. Paul wrote that if Jesus were not resurrected, the preaching and the faith of Christians would be worthless. In fact, the Gospel accounts would simply be a sad story of a good and wise man who was killed by his enemies. But Jesus was resurrected, which confirms that everything he taught was true.-Read 1 Corinthians 15:14, 15, 20. Jesus said: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." (John 11:25) This promise of Jesus is guaranteed to come true. Jehovah has given Jesus the power to resurrect those who will rule in heaven and the billions who will live on earth. Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection guarantee that there will be no more death. So we can have the strength to endure any trial and even to face death with courage!
