The balanced rock in Idaho is located in Buhl, Idaho, near Twin Falls in south central Idaho. This is only about 50 miles (80 km) north of the three-way border of Idaho, Nevada, and Utah.
This is an impressive natural formation, 48 feet tall on a base just 1.5 feet x 3 feet. It is not as precariously "balanced" as it appears. There are hard rocks in the base still jutting into the wider upper rock, and concrete has been added to limit it from shifting.
