It's a bear to get at!

The best question that offers lots of detail on it is the "no-heat" one for the Taurus. There's a lot of conversation about the actuator motor that controls it (common failure), along with doors that bind-up and/or break - and the REPAIR options / procedures that go along with it.

A thought: if you end up in the worst case scenario - pulling the dash for a blend door replacement, you might consider tossing in a heater core replacement while you're in the neighborhood.
