the weight should be listed on the label on the driver door. stand outside the car and open the door to read it
You will need to remove the dash assembly to gain access to the blend door actuator. Recomend purchasing a shop manual of you intend on doing that job.
On a 1996 Ford Explorer : The blend door would be INSIDE the plastic case that has the heater core ( and air conditioning evaporator if equipped with A/C ) located below the glove compartment
The temperature blend door is pretty much in the center of dash - behind the radio. See "Related Questions" below for more details on dealing with it, and the actuator motor that operates it

Could be low on coolant or the heater core may be plugged or the thermostat is stuck open or the temp blend door is broken.
87 should be sufficient
On my 1994 Town Car the pump is below the air filter in front of the left front fender. There is sort of a well compartment down there.
