If it is a JOHN DEERe garden tractor, there are several coils/ignitors for your motor. Best to obtain the serial number and go to a dealer for reference. In some years they changed in mid production. Good luck1
If a 9-horsepower Kawasaki engine is backfiring under load, you might need to clean or replace the air filter. The timing coil could be damaged as well.
I have a similar problem with a kawasaki mower. it was running fine, emptied the catcher and wouldn't restart. Found plug fouled, no start with a new plug. removed coil, and with an ohm meter tested continuity of poles to each other, inconclusive. found a good coil from a different B&S mower and compared readings. Kawasaki had continuity with plug lead and center pole on pick-up, B&S did not. I assume the center pole is grounding out the plug lead, so I will replace the coil and see.
its on the engine
what is the valve setting on a 25 hp kawasaki lawn mower engine
Bad sparkplug or Wire. Or worse, bad coil pack or bad CDI or ignition or kill switch.
.010 to .012"
kawasaki engine 717 cc. timing mark
Engine coil? Are you talking about the ignition coil? Springs are coiled, And valves-spings are coiled…I have never heard of an engine coil w/o specifying which coil needs to be replaced.

A person can find the engine number on their Kawasaki Ninja 250R by looking at the side of the engine block. This is where the VIN number is often located, as well.
