It is located on the firewall side of the engine. Towards the passenger side. Just above the oil pan. (The original respondent) just replaced one on a 1991 3.1 liter. I was lucky that I had access to a lift. It was sort of a pain but I got it replaced in about 45 minutes. The bolt is 8mm. Use a 1/4 drive with a long extension.
where are the camshaft position
where is crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor on a 2004 Jetta 2.0 gl
The camshaft position sensor on a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix is located behind the rear bearing of the camshaft. It constantly monitors the rotation of the camshaft and relays this information to the computer.
The crankshaft position sensor must be behind the timing belt cover next to the crankshaft and behind the crankshaft pulley. The camshaft position sensor is again under the timing belt cover next to the camshaft and behind and the camshaft pulley. Is it the same place in 2000 Camry 4Cyl? Do you have pictures of the location? Hard or easy to replace, and what tools do I need? Thanks alot
Found it at front bottom of engine
The camshaft sensor on a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am is located behind the rear bearing cap. It detects the position of the camshaft as it rotates and relays this information to the computer.
Answerthe camshaft sensor is the distributor but the crankshaft position sensor is located right next to the crankshaft its held on by one bolt
The sensor is located directly above the crankshaft pulley. The camshaft sensor also connects with the crankshaft position sensor.
Nope. Rumor is crankshaft (near the bottom of engine) is only used for diagnostics, now camshaft sensors(s), are needed and are located near the top of the engine.
