I'm assuming the relay and controller are the same thing though I've seen people say the controller has a relay.
The controller is on the top rear of the engine, near the firewall, and has two big screws on top. Depending on the year, it will either have four or six connectors I think.
There is also a sensor or inhibitor somewhere on the passenger side of the engine, I'm assuming on the rear top.
Found this on gm-diesel.com:
"82 to 84 6.2s use a controller back by #7 cylinder runner and a relay on the driver's side fender."
and,
"There should be a controller, located behind the #7 cylinder intake runner which is threaded into the coolant passage in the head. There should be a separate relay which the controller activates to power on the glow plugs. The relay may be on the back of the driver's side cylinder head or located elsewhere in the engine compartment."
I have been told that there a 62 glow in the dark bugs. Although I just looked it up in a book it said 62 as well. :)
