Why eyes are the windows of your soul?

The eyes are seen as the window to the soul because they can give clues as to what another person is thinking. We all know that when people just smile with their mouths, the smile is probably false. When the smile includes the eyes, then it is probably genuine. Similarly, boredom can sometimes be detected by a blank stare. Much can be learnt from whether a person is willing to look us in the eye, or averts the gaze. We can also unconsciously judge whether a person is being honest by how often he or she blinks.

Eyes do not lie. They reflect emotional states and awareness. A person can express themselves, in facial expression, any way to fit a specific need or situation. It is not possible to control the natural presentation of the eye during events where the conscience (soul) is involved. Emotions cause the brain to release certain endorphines which can cause certain variances in the eye's prestentation. For instance; when a lie is being told, the eyes will change and become darker and the pupil will constrict, as if to protect itself; while most people can't control eye movement, they will look away during the event. Another "tell" is when the perpetraitor tries to control the eye movement, sometimes locking onto the other person's eyes, only to look "through" them and not at them. Then you will see a blank stare and the pupils will be dialated because the teller's mind doesn't want be present and the endorphine release makes the whites of the eyes darker.

When a person is truthful and present with no inhibitions, the iris is clear and the pupils are stable and consistent; the whites are clear and bright.

No matter what a person does to disguise themselves they cannot control how the eyes appear without artificial means, such as custom contacts. Ultimately, the safest way to guage is by eye contact.

Luke 11:34: The lamp of the body is your eye. When your eye is simple, your whole body is also bright; but when it is wicked, your body is also dark.
