Where is the water overflow pipe located on an in-ground vinyl pool?

You most likely do not have one on this type of pool. However, one can be added be simply drilling a hole in the back of a plastic skimmer box somewhere near the top and back or side or the unit. You could possibly use garden hoes fittings and gaskets or PVC and silicone at the thru wall hole then go from there to desired location. You'll have to work out the details of sealing the opening.

∙ 16y agoNot all pools have them. An in ground pool would have one somewhere near the top of the tile line. It is there so that the rain water will not go over the coping onto the deck. Inside the skimmer is a place to look on both above and in ground pools. k
I've seen 1000 pools or more, but never an overflow. I'm guessing you are worried about rain over filling the pool. If the water level rises too much you connect a discharge hose to the filter or sometimes there will be a hose bib installed between the pump and filter. Attach a garden hose, turn on the pump.

If you have water behind your vinyl in ground pool liner, you should first lower the water in the pool to normal levels if it is over-filled. Make sure that the vacuum pipe is clear, unclog it if it is not. Once it is unblocked let the water from behind the liner flow out.

The liner should not float at all. The pressure or weight of the water is what holds it down. There has to be either a leak where water is getting under or behind it or maybe ground water is forcing it up.
