There are two waterfalls that I know of in Central Park. They are both in the area known as the North Woods (the northermost side of the park). Directions are as follows:

1) Find the pond that is on the west edge of the park, at approximately West 100th Street (or, what would be West 100th Street, if the streets went through the park).

The easiest way to find the pond is to enter the park on the west side, and find the park loop, aka the park drive. The park loop/drive is the only road that cars are allowed on in the park. It is basically just a two-laned cement highway that loops around the park. Walk north on the park drive (there is a pedestrian lane) until you get to the pond.

2) Step off the park drive, and walk down to the little path that goes around the pond. Ahead of you, on your right, there is a cute little wooden bridge, and to the right of the bridge, there is a little path that leads off into the center of the park. At the beginning of the path is the first (smaller) waterfall. The water falls into a little canal, and the canal goes through a little tunnel. Actually, there is a picture of the canal and the tunnel on my User page. Click on my User name (below, where it says "First Answer by LimeAid"). Scroll to the bottom of my User page for the picture.

3) Walk through the little tunnel. On the other side of the tunnel, about 50 yards ahead of you, you will see another one of those cute little wooden bridges. I also have a picture of that little bridge on my User page (just above the picture of the tunnel).

4) That little wooden bridge connects two parallel paths, which both lead to the second (bigger) waterfall. You can cross the little bridge and take the path on the left. Or, you can take the path you're already on. If you take the path you are already on, then you will come to another, white wooden bridge. You'll cross the white wooden bridge, and then the path will turn left, and straight on to the waterfall.
