Genesis 22
2 Then He said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."
Abraham offered his only son as a sacrifice on the same spot where 2000 years later another Father sacrificed His Son for us.
Deuteronomy 6
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Matthew 22
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mark 12
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Luke 10
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
The words, love, loves, loved and loving appear in the New King James Version (NKJV) 500 times. Love is a very powerful commandment and there are very wonderful stories in the Bible about love.
The first three that come to my mind are
John 3:16-17 (NKJV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.(NKJV)
1Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV)
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
It all depends on the version you use. In the NIV, which is a highly verifiable source, the word first appears in Genesis 4:1--
" Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, 'With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man.' "
The first non-sexual verse is Genesis 20:13--
"And when God had me wander from my father's household, I said to her, 'This is how you can show your love to me: Everywhere we go, say of me, "He is my brother." '"
The concept of love has been discussed and recorded since the dawn of civilization.
We no longer have the oldest written texts (they were destroyed or lost), but references to them indicate that love has been discussed in written form for as long as there has been written form. Cavemen probably wrote about it on the walls of their caves.
