The unfortunate news that I learned today is Olevia is out of business. They apparently sold their toll fee number to a third party repair vendor. They offer prepaid repair for a $100 upfront diagnostic cost, plus you have to ship the television to California. For my particular problem (that I see I could have avoided by checking the internet BEFORE buying it) a bad power supply or main board, there is an additional $100 to 200 or more charge to fix it, then you pay to have it shipped back.
I did the math as they say and found I did not know enough about these new fangled televisions to protect myself. My expedience is with the old fashioned TVs that last until you toss them down the stairs and sometimes they still work. LOL
I am looking for local repair shops. If the price is too great. I will consider this one of the most expensive lessons I have ever learned about electronics.
Good luck,
NC, Cleveland, OH
I can repair the Olevia Power issue for $75 plus the cost of shipping. Which would usually be around $20 to $30. If you would like more information you can email me @ team@acswayx.com
Thanks

Olevia LCD TV assembly was completed in two locations in California: one in City of Industry, and one in Ontario.

Such codes are generated by the universal remote manufacturer rather than the TV manufacturer. As such, the actual codes will differ from one remote to another. Regretfully, Olevia TV's (for the most part) use proprietary infrared frequencies. This means that the code for another TV brand will not work with Olevia TV's. If you are looking for a universal remote, Olevia made a learning remote (model RC-LRN). Amergence Technology Inc. sells them for 39.99. They can be reached at 866-965-3842.
There are repair shops out there that can repair LCD Tv's. Search "lcd tv repair" in your local area. The prices vary from one to another but many are at a good price compared with replacing your TV with new.
LG Philips manufactured some components used in Olevia TV's, but was not involved in the manufacturing of boards or modules; nor was it involved in the assembly of Olevia TV's.

Look for a TV mount that will work on ceilings. You may encounter difficulty finding one though as the ceiling is an uncommon place to put TVs.
