None, for it to be an atom it has the have the same number of electrons and protons.

Something with 1 electron and 2 protons would theoretically be a helium ion but helium does not form ions.

Which is smallest in size - atom or electron?

An Atom contains both Protons & Electrons, and sometimes even Neutrons. An Electron is about 1/1840th the mass of a Proton or a Neutron, so Atoms are definitely much heavier.

What is the charge of an ion that contains 21 protons and 19 electrons?

This ion will have a charge of -1. The atomic number is the number of protons in the atom's nucleus. A neutral atom will have a number of electrons equal to the atomic number, which is the number of protons in that nucleus. Since you have an extra electron your atom has a negative charge of one electron's worth, or minus one, which is 1.6 x 10-19 coulombs.

How many protons are in an ion with 86 electrons and a negative 1 charge?

A neutral atom has an equal number of protons and electrons. Protons are positively charged, and electrons are negatively charged. Therefore if you have an ion with a -1 charge, it has one extra electron. So your ion has 85 protons.

How many protons and electrons in a sodium ion?

Sodium ion is Na+. That means it has lost 1 of its electron from the valence shell to make it more stable. The number of protons of an atom or its ion will always be the same because if the number of proton changes the atom will also change. number of protons in Na+ is 11 number of electrons in Na+ is 10 (since it lost its 1 electron to be happy and stable)

Are the elements oxygen and the element hydrogen made from the same of atom?

No. A Hydrogen atom has 1 proton and 1 electron with the electron arrangement 1. An Oxygen atom has 8 protons, 8 neutrons and 8 electrons with the elecron arrangement 2. 6.

What substance has electrons but no protons?

an electron smallest atom is hydrogen...1 proton and 1 electron

What is the size order for these scientific particles Proton Neutron Atom Electron Nucleus?

IIRC Atoms (contains Protons/Neutrons and electrons) Nucleus contains Protons and Nuetrons Proton atomic size 1 Nuetron atomic size 1 electron atomic size 1/1836 i.e the proton is 1836 bigger than the electron

The nucleus of an atom contains what two particles?

nucleus....contains protons & neutrons

Where are protons and neutrons found in an electron?

Protons and neutrons are not in electrons. protons and neutrons are the center or core of an atom. the electron(s) is/are found in a "cloud" along the outside edge of the atom. Hydrogen for example has 1 proton at its center and 1 electron floating around it keeping it neutral.

Which particle has the least mass within an atom?

The three particles that make up an atom are protons, neutrons and electrons. Protons and neutrons both have a mass of 1 unit, whereas the mass of an electron is 1/1837 of that of a proton or a neutron. Therefore, the electron has the least mass as its mass is considered negligible.

How is hydrogen atom and radium atom different for each other?

Hydrogen atom has 1 proton and 1 electron; radium has 88 protons and electrons. Also radium is radioactive.

When chlorine gains an electron to become a chloride ion with a -1 charge it ends up with the same electron arrangement as argon. Why doesn't it become an argon atom?

It doesn't become an argon atom because it (Cl-) still has 17 protons, and an argon atom has to have 18 protons.
