Well in my time I've had three German Shepherds and really never had trouble with any of the large name brands. Though out of the large name brands they seemed to like Iams most. While not obscure the food that they seemed to like most and was suggested both by the breeder and vet was Canin Royal (or Royal Canin... its been awhile) They have a German Shepherd and large breed puppy formula. Its a little more expensive but still good.

Chocolate made for dogs is okay but human chocolate is a big no.
Pigs ears and feet are also enjoyable but a big raw hide bone or shoe is best!

A decent brand of dog food such as Pedigree or Bakers.
they eat strong foods like Origin and bluebuffalo when they have turned 1 they have to eat dog adult
