== == Phobos and Deimos. Phobos means fear. Deimos means panic.

If they're on Mars I have to say Hellas and Argyre. [/nerd joke] If it's in orbit around it I say Phobos and Deimos.

As far as I know, Earth has only one moon. And it's just called the Moon. We don't believe in giving fancy Greek, Roman, and Latin names to things revolving around our planet. Mars has two moons, Deimos and Phobos. Did you mean mars?

You can get three different types of shadows from the moon in total. There is the Umbra (complete shadow where you don't see any of the sun), Penumbra (where the moon covers up one side of the sun - anything from a small 'bite' up to a crescent sun) and then finally there is an Antumbra shadow (where the moon sits completely inside the disc of the sun).

Earth's only natural satellite is simply called The Moon, or sometimes Luna (the Latin name).

There are, however, scores of artificial satellites (not moons), primarily com arrays and space-junk.

Moons are natural satellites of planets or other space objects. As such, moons accompany their hosts in their orbits around the sun. In this sense every moon orbits the sun. It's not entirely accurate to hold that 'moons orbit planets and planets do not orbit moons'. What is closer to the truth is that moons and planets orbit one another. Even better is the fact that a planet and its moon each orbit their barycenter, the center of gravity of the planet/moon system.

Mars is the God of War, for the reddish color of the planet in the sky. The two moons of Mars are Diemos and Phobos, named for the two hounds of the War God, Fear and Panic.

What are the two closest planets to Jupiter?

The two closest planets are Mars and Saturn. Mars is closer to the sun, Saturn is farther from the sun.

What two planets are next to Mars?

The two planets that are the closest to Mars is Earth and Jupiter.

How many planets do not have moons that orbit around them?

Of the eight planets in the Solar System, the only two that have no moons are Mercury and Venus. Earth has one moon, Mars two, and the gas giants Jupiter Saturn Uranus and Neptune have dozens between them - no one really knowing just how many there are as new ones are being discovered each year. The first member of the minor planets beyond Neptune - Pluto - is now not designated as a major planet. It has at least three moons. There are many more minor planets beyond Pluto that have moons - and again these are being discovered yearly.

How are planets closest to the sun different from the planets that are farther away?

The planets that are closest to the sun get more heat than the ones more farther away. The four inner planets are dense and rocky. The four other planets have small solid cores surrounded by vast atmospheres. The four inner planets have one significant satellite among them (the moon), while each of the outer planets has many satellites. The four inner planets are small, while the outer planets are massive.

What planets is close to the moon?

Obviously, every planet. Every planet has its own moon. If you are talking about the moon we see at night, that moon is the moon orbiting Earth. So Earth is the closest to Earth's moon, Jupiter is closest to Jupiter's moon, and so forth.
