If you are in al Masjed Al Haram in Makkah, I advise you to follow the Immam (leader of the prayer) there and follow his prayer.
If you mean the grand mosque in Mecca (Al Masjid Al Haram) then there is a bit of a debate whether it was built by the angles or Adam. But later Ibrahim and his son Ismaeil came to Mecca and found its foundations still present which they built upon and called people for Hajj (pelgrimage). It was damaged and restored several times after that, but the current Kaaba is the restoration of the Otthoman Sultan Murad in 1630 after it was damaged by floods.
Masjid-ul-Haram (the Ka'aba) in Makka Mukarrama, Masjid-un-Nabi in Madina Munawwara, and Masjid-i-Aqsa in Jerusalem are the most sacred places of worship for the Muslims.
