∙ 13y agoThe bomb design was done by a team of physicists lead by Dr. Oppenheimer, the leading physicist of the group. The bomb was built and parts of it all over the country and Canada. Radioactive material was gleaned in Hanford, Washington, the assembly was done in Alamogordo, New Mexico and parts were made in Canada. There were other contributors to the making of the bombs. The entire project was called the Manhattan Project. You can read more about it on the related link below.
