Best Answer

taxes benefit many things example: tv licenses

Well a TV lisc may well be a form of tax, but it doesn't benefit from one.

Taxes are simply the way the Society, through government, pays for anything the members of society need or want to provide for themselves and others.

Some example: Security and defense (the armed services), support for those who can't fend for themselves or need help (disabled, ill, old, etc), medical services for the needy - and research of all types for us all, arts and sciences, education, maintaining public areas and wildlife and preserves/wilderness, public facilities, etc. , etc., etc.
