∙ 12y agoAvatar was written and directed by James Cameron. The movie released in 2009, while it got a big audience. However, it was originally written in 1994 when James Cameron wrote the movie's outline in about 80 pages and the movie began to develop from then on.

∙ 11y agoAvatar: The Last Airbender was a television series before it made its way into print media. The show was created and largely written by Michael Dante DiMartino and Brian Konietzko. Over the course of the series, multiple manga comics were released to give background and cover information that may have been confusing from the show. Most notably, "The Promise" is a three-part comic released by DiMartino and Konietzko that provides a look at Aang's adventures between the end of A:TLA and the Legend of Korra.
