Job was a man who followed God. The devil received permission from God to tempt Job, and his family and wealth was taken from Job. The devil struck Job with boils, but he never cursed God. Job's friends and wife tried to get him to curse God and die, but he remained strong. The Lord blessed him twofold of all that he had lost. (Read the story in the book of Job, before Psalms.)

Job in The Bible was a good, rich and religious man. the subject of a parable in which Satan told God that as Job has everything he worships You, let me take everything from him, then we shall see. In the parable God said go ahead but do not touch him, so Job lost his money, his family and his health, but he remained strong to God.

Job was a rich and good manhe stood by god when Satan killed his family and took his wealth,he even had sores ont he body. Still he believed in god.

Job is a man mentioned in the Old Testament. He was a strong man in God, even when Satan struck his family, he lost all his wealth and all his children died, mind you he was a very rich man indeed. Then when he did not leave god , Satan attacked him with all sores on his body, the bible says he scraped the boils with a stone. The wife then told him to curse God, but he flatly refused to do it.. God then gave back all his wealth to him back.

Job was a man who worshiped God. He was a good and rich man who the Lord allowed Satan to test. You can read about him in the book of Job, which is the 18th book of the Bible. The story of Job is a parable, trying to teach us why bad things happen to good people, so Job is an idyllic almost perfect man. He was not a real man. he is not a historical character like Abraham or David.

Job in the old testament was a good ,godfearig rich man. His faith was so strong in god when Satan told god he is a believing in you as he has wealth and family and cattle. but if you take all that away ,he will not worship you.So God gave Satan the power to go ahead but not to touch him. He lost his family, cattle and all, his body was full of sores and he he used a stone to scrape it. His wife also said to curse god. but he remained strong and faithful. So God showed Satan . Job was "blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil." -Job 1:1 (feared, in this case, means in awe of or respected). It is also clear that God considers Job to be a righteous man with integrity, as He makes a point to tell Satan what a good man he is.

Job was a wealthy land owner. He was a man of faith, patience and endurance. He was known as a generous and caring person. He was a man willing to repent and confess known wrongs. He is quoted in James as an example of perseverance or fortitude.

Job's faith was tested and he never cursed God, or turned from Him. In the end, his endurance was rewarded. God revealed Himself, as He always does, to be compassionate and merciful.

Additional thoughts:

Many people feel that the book of Job re-introduces us to the basic cause of the suffering on earth today, satan the devil (Genesis 3:1-6/Revelation 12:9). Job(his name meaning 'object of hostility') was a man of integrity(Job 1:1) who remained faithful to God under severe persecution, including physical and emotional satanic attacks (Job 1:6-22). As the Bible says of Job "There is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and turns away from evil."(NRSV) Job was not an Israelite(since he was born before Jacob), but he was a relative of Abraham, a descendant of Shem, and a conscientious worshiper of God, acting as 'priest' offering sacrifices to God for his family(Job 1:4+5). He was well loved and respected by all and known for his moral sense and love of justice for those in need(Job 29:5-17/Job 31:9-28). After Job came successfully through his tests, God rewarded his faithfulness(Job 42:10-17), as he will ours.(1 John 5:19/James 5:11)

Job was a figure of importance in the gate of the city, even aged men and princes giving him respect. (Job 29:5-11) He sat as an impartial judge, executing justice as a champion of the widow, and was like a father to the fatherless boy, the afflicted, and those who had no help. (Job 29:12-17)
