A social reformer and freedom fighter by the name of Mahatma Nathuram Godse , shot Mohandas Gandhi 3 times with a Beretta M semi-automatic revolver . While more than 3 million people attended Mohandas Gandhi's funeral , no one paid attention to the plight of Godse who was hanged after a pseudo , Nazi Germany, like trial done under specific instructions from Mr Nehru ( who was the then PM of India. ) to hang Godse .

The assassin, Nathuram Godse, was a social reformer , and a freedom fighter, erroneously perceived as a Hindu nationalist by the media. He killed Gandhi because , Gandhi in his zeal to look "fair, secular and equal" to the world actually actually cowed down under Islamic Fundamentalist pressure and compromised the interests of 30 million Hindus, prompting Godse to murder him.
