General McAuliffe i think. Gen McAuliffe was in command of the US troops who were surrounded and defended Bastogne. He was command of the 101st Airborne Division artillery and was the highest ranking general on the scene. There were other commanders both on US and German sides. The Battle of the Bulge was an attack along a large front that involved several US infantry divisions. Then Gen Patton's 3rd Army was sent to relieve Bastogne and turn the Germans back. So there are many commanders.

That would depend on the US forces in question. Brig. General Anthony C. McAuliffe commanded the forces encircled at Bastogne, and Lt. General George Patton lead Third Army to relieve them. General Dwight Eisenhower was the overall commander of Allied forces.

General Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was Supreme Allied Commander of all allied forces in Europe. Right below him was Gen. Omar Bradley. There where other Generals involved the battle and they commanded an army group. Eisenhower elected to have Gen. Montgomery a British General take over command of the northern armies facing the Germans until the battle was won. Another famous General involved was Patton, his army was located in the south and he was under the command of Bradley. But, Eisenhower was in charge and all Generals in Europe who where under his direct command.
