Chiang Kai Shek and the Kuomintang, by contrast, had a reputation for doing nothing and being ineffective. The Allies were frustrated that their supplies and support, brought to China from the U.S. through India at great expense and loss of life, were having no effect on the Japanese. The Kuomintang was waiting and preparing for a resumed civil war with the Communists. However, the Kuomintang's traditional army and capital city was vulnerable to Japanese attack. Few of their supplies and troops were left at the war's end.

I don"t know where you get your information from, but KUOMINTANG was the nationalist CHINESE government- by extension the army and other Armed Forces of Nationalist China- also known as Formosa and Taiwan. this is to be totally distinguished from the COMINTERN, which was a Communist organization founded or at least backed by Joseph Stalin. They do sound somewhat similar. Politically, they were poles apart. I have never heard of a Kuomintang Dance? Martial arts perhaps? but not a dance. it is pronounced Kwo- Minn- Tang almost like Tong, a grasping tool! do not confuse with Tong houses ( and tong wars) in Chinatown. Get an almanac! Kuomintang is not a Dance.
