Since the death of the James Bond author Ian Fleming on the 12th of August 1964, there have been no new publications in the James Bond series. However, to mark what would have been Fleming's 100th birthday in 2008 Ian Fleming Publicationscommissioned Sebastian Faulks to write a new Bond novel "Devil May Care" which was to become the 15th novel in the James Bond series. Faulks is credited to be writing in the style of Fleming.
In May 2010, thriller author Jeffery Deaver was chosen to write the next James Bond novel, to be published in May 2011.
