Norman Rockwell was inspired by his father who was an avid hobby artist. His grandfather had also been a painter of landscapes. He studied art at the newly formed Art Student League in New York City. He was influenced by the style of artists Howard Pyle, J.C. Leyendecker, N.C. Wyeth and Maxfield Parrish.
