In the Bible in Daniel, chapter 2, King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream and says "I have dreamed a dream and now that dream is gone from me". He was troubled by the dream. He calls for wise men, astrologers and sorcerers to tell him his dream and the meaning of it. In the second Matrix movie, Morpheus (who is the God of dreams in Greek mythology) quotes this as he sees his ship, the Nebuchadnezzar, destroyed. In the Bible, Daniel interprets the dream as a vision of the end of the world. Morpheus also knows that the end of the world will happen in his time but hopes that humanity will win and not the machines.

When I was very young, I wanted to be a glamorous movie star, posing at celebrity parties around a swimming pool. When I was a little older, I wanted to be an actress of note …on stage and screen. When I was even older than that, I wanted to be a supporting actress, listed about eighth or tenth on the credits so that I could work on stage and in movies but lead a normal private life. Now I just love the movies and enjoy them.

No matter what the dream is, you remain within your own self, in your own mind inside your own body. Contrary to supposedly "spiritual" claims that circulate in the media and… on the Internet, it is not possible to leave your body and travel "the astral plane" in your dreams. Such things are matters of fantasy and imagination.
