There have been lots of people, starting with the first-ever production in London 1904, starring Nina Boucicault. The next year, Maude Adams played Peter Pan in New York. Zena Dare and Pauline Chase (who played one of the Lost Boys in the first production) played the role many times.
Several women have played Peter Pan in stage musical adaptations: Jean Arthur (1950), Mary Martin (starting in 1954), Sandy Duncan (1970s-1980s), Mia Farrow (1976, TV special), and Cathy Rigby (1990s-present).
There was also a silent movie made in 1924, which was a lot like the stage productions of the time, starring Betty Bronson.
Oh, and there have also been some males who've played him. Bobby Driscoll provided his voice in the original Disney movie, and Blayne Weaver in "Return to Never Land". Jason Marsden did the voice for the TV series "Peter Pan and the Pirates" in 1990. Robin Williams played grown-up Peter in 1991's "Hook". And of course Jeremy Sumpter played Peter in the 2003 live-action movie.
