Seneca, a first-century Roman philosopher, allegedly said, "Luck is where the crossroads of opportunity and preparation meet."
Oprah Winfrey must have amended--basically, shortened--the quote before using it herself. Her version was worded exactly as it appears in the question above.
This quote suggests that luck is not simply a random event, but rather the result of being prepared for when opportunities arise. By working hard and being ready for chances that come your way, you increase your likelihood of success and fortunate outcomes.Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.
Well what most people consider luck in this world isn't really luck. So it means that luck happens more to people that prepare well and that have a great opportunity.
Sort of... "In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity."
Try-Many thanks for the opportunity to provide this quote-it's shorter, more direct, simpler.Less is sometimes more.

This quote from "Meeting at Night" by Robert Browning describes the sound of the speaker tapping at the window pane with a sense of urgency and anticipation. It conveys a moment of clandestine meeting or communication between lovers, creating a sense of secrecy and excitement in the poem.
A quote which motivates or inspires someone to act upon it, to change their way of thinking or behaviour on a particular matter.
I believe this quote comes from Oprah Winfrey. She is saying that if you're prepared for an opportunity when it comes along then that is her definition of luck. Really there is no by chance "luck" unless you make your own. To get "lucky" you must not just sit around unprepared and wait for something to magically happen or to come to you. You have to make it happen. In order to make it happen- you have to do the leg work and prepare yourself for it. (Example: if you wanted to get a book published and you never finished that book- then it's never going to get published. But if you write the book and then by chance meet a book publisher or if you send it out to agents to be published- and someone actually wants to publish it- then you're prepared for the opportunity to have it published.)
Mark Twain's quote about age differences is "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." This quote suggests that one's attitude and mindset towards age can determine how significant it is in one's life.
The quote means that no matter what we do or how we act the world keeps turning and there is no way to stop time.
This is a great quote referring to the fact that your life may be long, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that you lived a life that was meaningful and fulfilled your purpose. After you die, nothing you have on this earth will matter. All that will matter is what your life did to prepare you for eternity.
Meeting you was destiny. Becoming friends with you was choice. But falling in love with you... I had no control over.
The quote "Life will defend itself no matter how small it is" is found on page 320 of the novel "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel.
